People’s Champ Manny Pacquaio and Kapamilya stars top the list of celebrity taxpayers released by BIR

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) released the list of the Top 12 celebrities who paid their taxes that was made as of November 24, 2014 for the year 2013. In the number 1 position is the People’s Champ and Representative of Sarangani Province Manny Pacquaio. Manny paid Php163.84 million in regular income taxes in 2013 despite of the tax evasion case against Pacquiao stemmed from his P2.2-billion tax liability based on an assessment by the BIR that angers his supporters that time.

Following Manny is the actor and prime artist of ABS-CBN Piolo Pascual with Php 42.53M. Next are other Kapamilya actors including John Lloyd Cruz with Php 41.97M, Kris Aquino with Php 40.48M and Sharon Cuneta with Php 39.04M completing the top 5.

For the top 6-10 are Willie Revillame with Php 38.30M, It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis with Php 28.23M, primetime actress Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo with Php 24.32M, primetime actor Coco Martin with Php 22.49M and TV host Vic Sotto with Php 22.40M.

Lastly for the top 11 and 12 are Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo with Php 16.14M and actor Dingdong Dantes with Php 15.73.

Meanwhile the ABS-CBN Corp. President and CEO Charo Santos-Concio ranked 121th with an income tax payment of Php14.56M. BIR Commisioner Kim Henares is very strict with the tax payment which from the celebrities, business owners and others which according to her it is very important to the contribution development of the country.
