From February 20 to March 15, Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) Theater reimagines Anton Chekov’s classic comedy the Cherry Orchard and added a Filipino touch to bring a wonderful comedy entitled Arbol de Fuego. The comedy celebrates the return of Cherie Gil and Bembol Roco on stage with a story of being chained in the past and failed to move on.
Arbol de Fuego tells the story of an aristocratic family’s decline in 1970’s Negros Occidental during the time of the Marcos regime. They grew in a glamorous life and now they need to face bankruptcy but still they refuse to accept the truth. Joining Gil and Roco are Urian best actress awardee Angeli Bayani, British Independent Film Award nominee Jake Macapagal, Anna Luna, Leo Rialp, Raffy Tejada and Riki Benedicto. Here are some of the highlights from the press night of Arbol de Fuego:

This is a rare opportunity to see Cherie to be in a funny and sarcastic as a character together with the rest of the cast giving life to the story. We used to see her in a very glamorous and refined character what we saw in Master Class, Nine and Full Gallop.
Arbol de Fuego opens on February 20, 2015 with shows from Fridays to Sundays, 3:00pm and 8:00pm at the PETA Theater Center, No. 5 Eymard Drive, New Manila, Quezon City. For more information, contact PETA at (02) 725 6244 or email [email protected].
