Few days before the Miss Universe Pageant that will happen on January 25 (Jan. 26 Manila Time), at the Florida International University Arena in Doral, Florida in USA with 88 candidates from all over the world will be joining and one of the is MJ (Mary Jean) Lastimosa from the Philippines. During her interview for Miss Universe together with the rest of candidates, MJ mentioned that the Filipinos are the ultimate fans and supporters to Miss Universe pageant and other beauty contests for the Filipino candidate vying for the title.
She also mentioned that they are the source of her strength as she competes in Miss Universe. Here’s the interview of MJ for the 63rd Miss Universe pageant:
MJ is a 27-year-old businesswoman, actress and model that grew in North Cotabato, Mindanao. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mindanao. Before landing the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2014 candidate, she already joined Binibining Pilipinas 2011 where she landed 2nd Runner-Up and in 2012 where she became part of Top 12 Semifinalist.
Judges for this year’s Miss Universe include eight-division boxing champion and Filipino congressman Manny Pacquaio, TV host and shoe designer Kristin Cavallari, Spanish TV and Film Actor William Levy, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ actress Lisa Vanderpump, and fashion journalist and MTV host Louise Roe .
Up to date, Philippines have two Miss Universe titleholders namely Gloria Diaz in 1969 and Margarita Moran in 1973. There are two first runner-ups, 5 3rd runner-ups, and 2 4th runner ups.
