Welcoming 2015 with a bang, 20th Century Fox officially unveils their movie line-up for year to prepare their avid moviegoers for the 15 wonderful films with various genres from action, drama, comedy, sci-fi and animation to make their movie experience fun and unforgettable. 20th Century Fox is known for their award-wining films including Avatar and Life of Pi. They also brought life to our favorite characters from the bestselling novels including The Maze Runner and The Fault In Our Stars. And for kids and kids at heart Ice Age and X-Men film franchise will always be in the top of their list.
Meanwhile here are the 20 movies to expect this year that will surely give us the viewing pleasure we always wanted.
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. Ben Stiller is back as Larry Daley, a security guard at the Museum of Natural History that ensures fun and control between the historical characters in the museum that comes to life at night time. He will take us to a chaotic but fun and magical night inside the Museum of Natural History. Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb is one of the last films that Robin Williams did before he passed away. He reprises the character of Theodore Roosevelt in the film.
Taken 3. Liam Neeson reprises the character of Brian Mills who was framed for a murder and is hell-bent to uncover the group behind the killing.
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). From 71st Venice International Film Festival, the film goes mainstream this 2015 as Michael Keaton plays the role of Riggan Thomson a famous actor who portrayed the an iconic superhero named Birdman now struggling to mount a Broadway play. In the days leading up to opening night, he battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his career, and himself. He will be joined by Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, Emma Stone, and Naomi Watts.
Wild. Based from the biographical book of Cheryl Strayed with the same title, it will take on the journey of the author who undergo self-discovery by trekking a 1,100 mile lone hike to put her life back together again. The character in the film will be played by Academy-Award winner Reese Witherspoon.
Kingsman: The Secret Service. Based upon the acclaimed comic book by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons starring Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson and Taron Egerton, the film takes us on a depths of thrills in the espionage game with a team of newly-trained spy recruits who battle a twisted genius.
Spy. The world’s most covert of spies have been injured and exposed where the only remaining choice to save the world is an unassuming unsung desk analyst within the undercover organization directed by Paul Feig starring Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law, Jason Statham, Allison Janney and Rose Byrne.
B.O.O. (Bureau of Otherworldly Operations). A supernatural team comes to the rescue dedicated to protect humans from evil hauntings, the agents of B.O.O. have a secret weapon: they are ghosts themselves! When newbie agents Jackson Moss and his odd-ball partner Watts uncover a plot to destroy B.O.O. by the agency’s Most Wanted Haunter, they must use every trick in their arsenal to defeat his powerful ghost army and save Earth from a ghostly fate.
Unfinished Business. Three individuals who travel to Europe for the deal of their lives and keep on getting tangled in a series of unfortunate hilarious events that will make or break their budding business venture. The movie stars Vince Vaughn, Dave Franco and Tim Wilkinson.
Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. The film is the sequel of the 2011 box office film Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. The comedy-drama sequel follows the expansionist dream of Sonny Kapoor played by Dev Patel and his plan to marry Sunaina played by Tena Desae. It also tells the story of charm the second time around where Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy and Dev Patel reprise their roles. Joining the sequel is Richard Gere where we see the famed hotel is now expanding into a chain.
Home. Based from the 2007 Adam Rex’s children’s book The True Meaning of Smekday, the animated film in partnership with DreamWorks Animation introduces us to the alien race called the Boov led by Captain Smek who wanted to invade Earth to hide from their mortal enemy and make it a new home. Convinced they are doing a favor, they begin to relocate the human race, but one resourceful teenage girl, Tip, manages to avoid capture. When on the run, she is accompanied by a banished Boov named Oh who has accidentally notified the enemies of his whereabouts. The animated film features the voices of Rihanna, Jim Parsons, Steve Martin, and Jennifer Lopez.
The Longest Ride. Based on Nicholas Sparks’ bestselling novel with the same title, it tracks down the life of the 91-year-old man trapped in a car crash as he reflects the love between him and his deceased wife as a young couple. Scott Eastwood plays the role of Luke Collins, whose love affair with college senior Sophia Danko plays out as the youthful half of the romantic saga.
Far From the Madding Crowd. Based on Thomas Hardy’s 1874 novel of the same title tells the timeless story of Bathsheba’s choices and passions explore the nature of relationships and love in the midst of hardships. Carey Mulligan as Bathsheba Everdene – an independent, beautiful and single-minded woman who attracts three distinct suitors including Gabriel Oak played by Matthias Schoenaerts.
Poltergeist in 3D. The horrifying horror film of the 80’s back for another haunting in the reimagining and contemporizing in 3D format. Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi and director Gil Kenan team up to bring the horror classic about a family whose home is invaded by very angry evil spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the youngest daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.
The Fantastic Four. This a reboot of the Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team. The movie is about four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Paper Towns. After the successful The Fault In Our Stars, John Green is back with another novel to be adapted on the big screen. A story that stars Nat Wolff and follows the journey ofa geeky high school senior’s search for the most popular girl who disappeared on the eve of their graduation.
Hitman: Agent 47. It is based on the top-selling and award-winning videogame franchise “Agent 47”. An all-new motion picture about an elite and genetically engineered assassin, known only by the last two digits – 47 – of a barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. His latest target is a young woman on the run from powerful and clandestine forces. The mission brings startling revelations about the lethal agent and his prey, hurtling them on a collision course with their pasts. And this time, his number may be up.
The Scorch Trials. This is the second book of The Maze Runner series that still follows the Gladers after their escape from the Maze they are now ready to face a new set of games out in the world ravaged by flares and diseases.
Victor Frankenstein. Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy team-up in a movie based from Igor’s (hunchback assistant of Dr. Frankenstein) perspective – of his dark origins, his redemptive friendship with young medical student Victor Von Frankenstein and how Frankenstein, the legend we know today came to be.
Peanuts Movie in 3D. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace – embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown.
The Martian. Andy Weir’s phenomenal self-published book is now on the big screen as it stars Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Jeff Daniels, Sean Bean and Kristen Wiig. The film follows the story of astronaut Mark Watney, one of the first people on Mars. He is left behind by his crewmates after a dust storm tears through the area and has to find a way to survive being stranded on the Red Planet.
