As Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) officially made its first landfall last December 6 (Saturday) in Dolores, Eastern Samar in the evening and now moving its way toward Southern Luzon before it exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday (Dec 9), the Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Local Government Units (LGU) already issued an advisory indicating the list of areas where classes are suspended from Dec. 8.

In the National Capital Region (NCR) list of areas that already announced class suspension in all levels include: Manila, Navotas City, Las Pinas City, Malabon City, Makati City, Mandaluyong City, Marikina City, Paranaque City, San Juan City, Pasig City, Muntinlupa City, Valenzuela City, Pasig City, Pateros, Quezon City, Caloocan City and Taguig City. Meanwhile provinces of Cavite, Quezon, Cebu, Laguna, Rizal, Marinduque, Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte had already suspended classes in all levels while Romblon Province just suspended classes only on elementary and high school.
Classes in all levels are also suspended in Surigao del Norte, Bohol, Sublayan Occidental Mindoro, Lapu-Lapu City, CarCar City and Mandaue City in Cebu, San Jose and Sibalom in Antique, Masbate, Cadiz City, Sagay City and Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental on Dec. 8. Meanwhile in Coron, Culion, Busuanga, and Palawan in Palawan just suspended classes only in preschool to high school on the said day.
