It is a rare opportunity to see big names in the music industry to perform together in the same stage for just one night because of their busy schedules and gigs in and out of metro. But they made it possible for a concert for a cause called Life Rocks spearheaded by AVA Prime and its co-producer the Philippine Life Insurance Association, Inc. (PLIA), the umbrella organization of the 31 life insurance companies currently operating in the country. The concert will happen in Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila in October 23.
Life Rocks will showcase bands and OPM performers including Imago, Sandwich, Radioactive Sago Project, Tres Marias, Razorback, Megan Aguilar, Ebe Dancel, and Marc Abaya -—all collaborating with the Manila Symphony Orchestra. This concert was made possible with the help of Francis “Lourd” de Veyra doing the musical arrangement and Diwa de Leon doing the directing of the event.
Proceeds shall be for the scholarship of those who have been orphaned by calamities that ravaged the country. The selection process shall be via the institutional partnership with Museo Pambata and the scholarship program of the Manila Symphony Orchestra. A documentary will follow the stories of the beneficiaries for one year.
The concert is the first of many events that comprises the launch and advocacy of the upcoming music lifestyle show called The LineUp where it will begin its airing November 2014. The producers will make a formal reveal on which network it will air in the coming weeks. The LineUp is an original AVA Prime creation.
