From August 7 to September 8, 2014, Samsung Philippines partners with the Yuchengco Museum to bring a once in a lifetime experience to see how arts and technology mix together in giving a new twist in artistry that all ages will surely enjoy. Tagged as Relative Realities: Creating New Dimensions of Art through Technology, the Samsung Digital Gallery, Samsung and Yuchengco Museum made this month long exhibit free to all who wanted to see how technology works perfectly with arts to bring a new approach that arts aficionados and even children will surely enjoy.
The gallery is a collaboration of artists and non-artists who works together to make this one of a kind exhibit became a reality. It was done before in Ayala Museum but in Yuchengco Museum it was a full blown exhibit using digital media, paintings, and sculptures come to life with the use of special applications made by Samsung called Samsung Facets. This app can be downloaded to any Samsung devices such as tablets and smartphones that will work with the arts included in the exhibit. Aside from that there are also guides and devices deployed in the area that will help the guests of the museum to see how the technology of augmented reality can add more to the beauty in the artworks.
This digital gallery was made possible by the collaborations of 6 artists including printmaker Ambie Abaño, painter Ernest Concepcion, painter Jason Montinola, sculptor Leeroy New, visual artist Arturo Sanchez, Jr., and multimedia and performance artist Josephine Turalba.
