After being nominated by the It’s Showtime couple Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia last Monday (August 25), Anne Curtis accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge as part of the awareness campaign for the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis also known as the Lou Gehrig’s disease that is a neurodegenerative disease with various causes where sign and symptoms include muscle spasticity, rapidly progressive weakness due to muscle atrophy, and difficulty in speaking (dysarthria), swallowing (dysphagia), and breathing (dyspnea). Curtis is one of the celebrities who accepted the challenge and with the help of his boyfriend Erwan Heusaff who poured the water with ice she showed support on the said awareness drive.
Aside from accepting the challenge Anne mentioned that she donated together with Erwan to the ASL Association (www.asla.org) to support the research in how to prevent and cure this neurodegenerative disease.
Meanwhile, Anne nominated the celebrity couple Luis Manzano and Angel Locsin, Sarah Geronimo and the songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcaside to take the ice bucket challenge which they need to do within 24 hours.
