Based from the hit Korean drama 49 Days or popularly known to Filipinos as Pure Love where it became a primetime habit to every Kapamilya in 2011, it will have its local adaptation and will premiere on Primetime Bida of ABS-CBN starting July 7 before TV Patrol. Pure Love stars Alex Gonzaga and Yen Santos, two of the brightest stars of their generations who will be playing the lead roles Diane and Ysabel. The series is directed by Veronica Velasco and Mikey Del Rosario.
Pure Love follows the journey of Diane and Ysabel two opposite young lady facing all the challenges in their lives. Diane, a daughter of businessman getting ready to marry her boyfriend Raymond (Arjo Atayde), but unknown to her there was Dave (Joseph Marco) secretly loving her. She has all the friends she need in her life; her best friend Kayla (Yam Concepcion) and a friend who is very loyal to her Jackie (Anna Luna). But she didn’t know who will be true to her until the end. Meanwhile, there’s Ysabel a simple young lady struggling in order to survive day by day but after the death of her fiancée that struck her so much. And the only person she has is Ronald (Aaron Villaflor), a her secret protector that she couldn’t not understand.
The path of the two will cross after a freak accident where Diane was left of a coma and the reason of the accident was Ysabel who tried to kill herself. And the only connection between them is the Scheduler (Matt Evans) who will guide Diane to look for the tears of Pure Love from the people close to her and leading her to Ysabel where she can use her body in order to communicate with them without telling who she really was.
In the local adaptation, I am looking forward on how ABS-CBN brings a new twist in the story of Diane and Ysabel including on how the add comedy knowing that Alex is known for that talent. Pure Love will surely bring inspiration to primetime viewers of ABS-CBN.
