We enjoyed the hard-hitting drama of wives fighting for their rights and their endless battles with the mistresses. We saw this kind of theme a lot in movies and television from both local and international producers. This time 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros Pictures gave a new taste on the wife vs mistress showdown to make it more fun and surreal for the moviegoers to enjoy. Entitled The Other Woman, the comedy film directed by Nick Cassavetes and written by Melissa Stack features Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton.
The comedy film that was officially released in theaters nationwide starting May 7 offers a bizarre journey of a woman named Carly (Diaz) who is not aware that the guy she loves is already married. But the fun side here is unlike the usual mistress story where the wife fights back, the film actually made the wife and mistress became a team in order to do revenge against the husband.
The combination of Diaz, Mann and Upton gave a fun and surreal presentation of the story on how the three: a wife and two mistresses became best of friends as they fight back to the womanizer husband of Kate (Mann). The film gave everyone a rollercoaster of fun and emotions on how the three work together as a team.
The film did deliver a fun story that will surely gave everyone a good laugh aside from that a journey on both sides the mistress and the wife. But reminding everyone that The Other Woman’s approach is surreal that really caters on how the viewers think out of the box in term of plot not to mention it is a comedy film. And what’s beautiful in the film is how the three main characters played their character right; the brainy (Diaz), emotional (Mann) and the dumb (Upton).
The Other Woman also stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Kinney and Don Johnson.
