After the junking of the rape case that the model Deniece Cornejo filed against host and comedian Vhong Navarro last week by the Department of Justice (DOJ), the case of Cornejo together with business man Cedric Lee and other six friends were indicted for serious illegal detention at the Taguig Metropolitan Trial Court. As of April 11, Friday the Taguig Metropolitan Trial Court under Judge Bernard Bernard of Branch 74 had issued warrant of arrest to Cornejo, Lee and other friends namely Bernice Lee, Simon Raz, Jose Paulo Gregorio Calma, Ferdinand Guerrero and Jed Fernandez due to the case of grave coercion only.
The information about the issuance of warrant of arrest was confirmed by the DOJ Secretary Leila de Lima who was closely monitoring the said case.
The said case was in connection with the mauling incident that involves Navarro last January 22 where it was narrated by Cornejo that Lee and friends were there for her rescue when the comedian allegedly raped her. Navarro countered the rape charge of Cornejo that he was the victim with extortion and later filed charges against them including physical injuries, grave threats and illegal arrest, to be absorbed in the illegal detention and grave coercion charges which will be a non-bailable offenses.
Aside from the Cornejo, Lee, et al, Vhong is also waiting for the result on the counter charges that he filled against Margarita Mai Fajaro and Roxanne Cabanero who also filled the sexual assault against him.
