Department of Justice Secretary Leila de Lima confirms that the alleged pork barrel scam player Janet Lim Napoles is now ready to divulge everything she knows about the multi-billion peso pork barrel scam. De Lima mentioned that Napoles tell all might be a big impact in the development in the probing of the PDAF (Priority Development Assistance Fund) scam that involves several names in the politics and even some personalities that benefit on the pork barrel.
The confirmation of Napoles was received by de Lima personally and was announced early this morning (April 22). De Lima received feelers before the Holy Week from Napoles stating that she’s ready to speak up and execute an affidavit that’s why they got her statement along with her condition. Meanwhile, the possibility of turning her as a state witness was not presented as a condition or was promised to Napoles as confirmed by the justice secretary. De Lima said that it is not her decision to turn Napoles as a state witness because it is the Ombudsman who will decide her case.
The said decision of Napoles to speak up was made before her operation at the Ospital ng Makati to address her uterine cyst. De Lima cannot divulge what’s in Napoles’ affidavit at of this moment and confirmed that the return of Gigi Reyes, Senator Juan Ponce Enrile’s former chief of staff in the country was not a factor in Napoles’ decision.
Earlier the Office of the Ombudsman decided that there’s a probable cause to file plunder and graft charges against Napoles Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada, Ramon “Bong” Revilla and several other personalities for the alleged pocketing of billions of pork barrel funds coursed through bogus non-government organizations. Aside from the pork barrel scam Napoles was earlier detained at Fort Sto. Domingo in Laguna for the separate charge made by pork barrel scam key witness Benhur Luy against her which was serious illegal detention case.
