From Asha to Lumia, Nokia releases another line of smartphone in the consumer market that enables Android application to run on the said device. The Nokia X that was recently introduced in the 2014 Mobile World Congress (MWC) at the Barcelona last February 24 and now will be available worldwide including the Philippines. The device is available currently in the greater Manila area and later in all Nokia concept stores and authorized dealers nationwide for as low as Php 5,990 (SRP).
The Nokia X will be available in bright green, bright red, black and white, the only Nokia smartphone that can run both Microsoft Windows and Android apps at the same time. The latest smartphone of Nokia is a combination of Asha because of its size and affordability not to mention that it is a dual SIM device and Lumia because of the tile-based design in terms of interface.
According to Gary Chan who is the Head of Marketing, Pan Asia, Nokia, he said that they believe that the unique combination will resonate with consumers around the world and set a great precedent for the level of quality that can be achieved in the fast-growing, affordable smartphone segment. And this was agreed by Karel Holub who is the General Manager, Philippines, Nokia that they are happy to be one of the first countries to launch the much anticipated Nokia X.
“The Nokia X would be a great device for Filipinos with Fastlane, signature Nokia experiences and a number of third party apps, in addition to a sturdy and attractive build at an affordable price.” Holub added.
The Nokia X still has that Nokia’s signature design approach and bold, bright colors. At only 10.4mm thin, the slim, durable monobody design features a 4” capacitive WVGA touch screen that provides great readability, and exchangeable back covers that come in a variety of statement colors. Inside, the device runs on the Nokia X Software Platform and is powered by a 1 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The device still has that signature pre-installed apps of the Nokia Lumia including the HERE Maps, with true offline maps and integrated turn-by-turn navigation, and Nokia MixRadio for free music streaming and downloadable playlists. The Nokia X is also an affordable introduction to popular Microsoft services, including free cloud storage using OneDrive.
Also Nokia X re-imagined the Fashlane swipe feature where aside from being the dynamic record of the day-by-day information on calendar, updates on apps, and others. Device owners can now return a missed call by calling or texting, accept or decline calendar invitations, or control the music player. It became more customizable and social-friendly to cater the needs of any device owner.
Lastly, additional information about Nokia X, 3MP camera and external memory can expand up to 32 GB. It also has 1500 mAH battery with standby time of more than 28 days max and talk time at 10-13 hours max. Aside from the device, the packaging includes high efficiency charger AC-20, Nokia stereo headset WH-108, and quick guide.
