Being a person who is always on the go, music will always be my companion to make me relax or focus on what I am doing. That’s why I usually have my collection of songs on my tablet and smartphone or sometimes music streaming via Spinnr. But sometimes, headphones or earphones are not enough to give that enjoyment in terms of my sound tripping there’s always the need for bass and beat that lacks from those devices. In short we want to amplify the music that we always wanted to her that help us relax or focus.
That’s why Native Union’s Monocle is one of the handy and affordable speakerphones available in the market. It comes in variety of vibrant colors including Mint, Coral Red, Slate and Marine Blue for those young and young at heart music lovers. And for trendy and sophisticated there’s the limited edition Brushed Black Diamond and Brushed Copper that I am using. The regular vibrant colored Monocle cost only Php 2, 250 while the limited edition is Php 2, 750 which is a good deal.
What’s good with Monocle is that it’s plug and play with any devices in my case with my LG Nexus 5 and iPad Mini and with the 3.5mm jack, I can connect to my devices whether on my pocket or bag especially if I’m on the go. Aside from the cute retro look of the nylon cord it is ultra-resistant that will secure your cables inside and nothing to worry if being twisted or tangled.
When used, I like it when I turned it on and control the volume. The wheel at the back of the speaker can be twisted for turning on/off the device and can adjust the volume. But aside from just being a speaker, the Monocle can act as your hands free device in answering voice and video messaging because of the built-in full duplex enabled microphone that ensures clarity.
My verdict on the Monocle by Native Union is that aside from being affordable, it can be used not only for your own listening pleasure but it is a good option for trips with your friends and family members for example the summer getaway like in the beach or camping where you need music to make bonding more fun. It is handy where I can keep it on my pocket, bag or simply on my neck. Charging time is less than less than 1 hour and 30 minutes and can be used up to 5 hours for both music and hands free voice and video messaging.
What’s on the box? The unit goes with loop when you want to hang the Monocle around your bag strap or on the branch of tree when you are camping or beach, Nylon USB / Micro-USB Charging Cable, Quick Start Guide and Warranty Card.
It is available in authorized Native Union resellers including Astroplus, DigiHub, Digital Arena, Digital Hub, Digital Walker, Heima, iGig, Quicksound and Gui. It is distributed locally by Digits Trading for more information about the Monocle contact them on their official Facebook Page and Twitter.
