Fresh from the successful presentation of the drama Closer last October 2013, Red Turnip Theater will present another sold-out hit that premiered in London in 2009 and later reached off-Broadway entitled Cock. Directed by theater veteran Rem Zamora, the comedy play was an original of Mike Bartlett that focus on the rocky relationship of a gay couple where one of them accidentally sleeps with a woman and later fell in love with her. The play will eventually revolves on the confusion and debate on the real sexual identity of one of the main character and how it will be settled: a good ending or an ultimate bitch fight?
The Red Turnip Theater presentation of Cock will feature Topper Fabregas, Niccolo Manahan, Jenny Jamora and Audie Gemora. Toffer will be playing the role of John a young man caught between his gay lover and his growing attraction to another woman- W, played by Jenny. Meanwhile Niccolo plays the role of M, the lover of John and will not give up a fight and waste all the years that he invested on their relationship. And lastly there was F, the father of M who invited all in the dinner where the theatrical bitch fight begins including the confusion and complexity of the real sexual identity of John.
Cock is a simple yet meaningful comedy that invested more on the witty lines rather than extravagant props, sceneries and furniture. The said theme represents well how Red Turnip Theater want it their presentation will be as the pillars of the company including established actors Ana Abad Santos, Topper Fabregas, Jenny Jamora, Cris Villonco and Rem Zamora envisioned it.
