After the announcement of the Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen and .Gears that they will be taking down the Flappy Bird application in all app stores (both iOs and Android) last February 9, another application similar to the said popular mobile game is now waiting its turn to be noticed. The Ironpants created by Eduardas Klenauskis is now gaining from the farewell of Flappy Bird on the gaming app category.
With the same concept which is one touch command option; Ironpants is more complicated unlike the Flappy Bird. Eventhough the main goal is to pass through the piles of crates just like .Gears’ game it control is harder which it needs to long press to fly and taking the finger off the screen it will immediately fall.
Ironpants players control a masked hero who flies through gaps created by piles of crates instead of the green pipes seen in Flappy Bird which reminded gamers of the iconic Super Mario Bros of Nintendo. Up to date the game is now on the second spot of the app stores for free game category.
Despite of the announcement of Nguyen to take down Flappy Bird, Android and iOs users can still see the application in the app stores. Nguyen decided to take down the said application because despite of the success of his mobile game he was bombarded with criticism because of the simple yet frustrating game which games tagged him on Twitter which annoyed him since the game became popular. Meanwhile, the issue of copyright wasn’t true which some critics pointed out that the background was a Super Mario Bros game inspired. From the success of Flappy Bird various mobile games like the Ironpants came out to join the bandwagon.
Ironpants are available to download for both Android and iOs devices.
