Early this afternoon (January 13, 2014) host and comedian Vice Ganda renewed his contract with ABS-CBN that ensured his stay with the Kapamilya network and his top-rating shows Its Showtime and Gandang Gabi Vice. Present at his contract signing are the ABS-CBN Executives headed by the ABS-CBN Chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio, ABS-CBN Channel 2 Head Cory Vidanes, ABS-CBN Programming Head Direk Lauren Dyogi, Dreamscape Entertainment TV and Business Unit Head Deo Edrinal and Business Unit Head Lui Andrada.
Vice Ganda or Jose Marie Borja Viceral was a stand-up comedian for Punchline and The Library before she entered the entertainment industry in 1999. He did various dramatic roles in Kapamilya shows including Kokey, Maging Sino Ka Man Book 2, Ligaw Na Bulaklak, Dyosa, Pieta, Maalaala Mo Kaya and May Bukas Pa. In 2009 Vice was given a break to be one of the hosts of Its Showtime with Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro and in 2011 he was given an evening variety talkshow entitled Gandang Gabi, Vice that is one of the top-rating shows of ABS-CBN.
Meanwhile, Vice Ganda also became an asset to ABS-CBN after becoming part of box office comedy films under Star Cinema including The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin, Sisterkas and Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy. Vice became one of the influential celebrities in terms of brands and opinions toward the LGBT rights.
