After completing the members of the cast for the return of Mars Ravelo’s Dyesebel on primetime television, ABS-CBN announced last night (January 30) at the Trade Launch that the iconic comic book character adopted to TV series will be airing on Primetime Bida by March 2014. The Mars Ravelo creation that will be the first to air on ABS-CBN stars Anne Curtis who will be playing the role of Dyesebel following the footsteps of Vilma Santos, Alma Moreno, Alice Dixson and Charlene Gonzales.
Joining Anne in Dyesebel are Gerald Anderson as Fredo and Sam Milby as Liro. Other cast members include Andi Eigenmann, ZsaZsa Padilla, Dawn Zulueta, Eula Valdez, Ai Ai delas Alas, and Gabby Concepcion. Dyesebel will be the full time mermaid role that Anne will be doing after she did Dyosa where one of her three characters as a mystical being was a mermaid and the other two are centaur and phoenix.
Dyesebel will be the fourth full-length mermaid series of the Kapamilya Network after Marina with Claudine Barretto, Mutya with Mutya Orquia and Aryana with Ella Cruz. Meanwhile, this will be the second TV adaptation after GMA 7 aired it in 2008 with Marian Rivera.
With the expertise of the Kapamilya Network in shooting in outside location they will surely create a majestic presentation of the world of the mermaids just like we see in Marina, Mutya and Aryana before. Aside from that with the creative team under Dreamscape they will surely give a deeper story and presentation of the characters that primetime viewers will surely enjoyed watching it from start to finish.
Aside from Dyesebel, ABS-CBN acquired other Mars Ravelo’s title including Captain Barbel and Darna. Other titles including Varga, Kapitan Boom, Flash Bomba, Tiny Tony, and Dragonna were aired in the defunct Saturday night’s Komiks Presents. Meanwhile, Lastikman has its TV debut in 2007 with comedian Vhong Navarro.
