Few days before the official release in all cinemas nationwide for the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Pagpag Siyam Na Buhay receives the grading of B from the Cinema Evaluation Board and rated PG by the MTRCB which means the fill can cater younger audience who wanted to have a good teenage horror movie this Christmas. The film was directed by Frasco Mortiz and starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla or popularly known as the phenomenal love team KathNiel. Pagpag Siyam Na Buhay is under Star Cinema and Regal Films.
The film centers on the superstitions in connection to the death. In the film the misfortunes started when everyone in the wake did things that were against the actual observation. With this their lives are now in danger and they should find ways on how to undo this.
The film also stars Shaina Magdayao, Matet de Leon, Paulo Avelino, Michelle Vito, CJ Navato and Dominic Roque. Pagpag Siyam Na Buhay will be competing with other MMFF entries including Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy, 10, 000 Hours, Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel, Kaleidoscope World, My Little Bossings, Boy Golden and Pedro Calungsod: Ang Batang Martir.
