With just few shooting days left for Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel, I had the chance to have a short conversation with the multi-talented and multi-awarded actress Eugene Domingo where she looks back in the success of her first two Kimmy Dora films. According to her, she really enjoyed doing the role of Kimmy and Dora where it opened so many opportunities to her as an actress including international recognitions and acting award.
From the first Kimmy Dora to Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme she jumped from doing romantic comedy to horror comedy at the same time shifting to one character to another. Now doing the third Kimmy Dora film which is actually a prequel entitled Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel she will now be doing an action comedy where their leading man will be Sam Milby. Eugene said that this film is very challenging where it requires strength and stunts where she needs to undergo training in with mixed martial arts.
Lastly, Eugene Domingo mentioned that Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel might be the last Kimmy Dora film which for her the film will be the last film for the iconic comical twins of Philippine cinema. At the same time she wanted it to end the franchise with a big bang and that it to be in the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
Joining Eugene and Sam are Angel Aquino, Ariel Ureta and Joel Torre. It will be shown in all cinemas nationwide on Christmas Day with the rest of competing MMFF entries including Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy, My Little Bossing, Pedro Calungsod : Batang Martir, 10,000 Hours, Pagpag Siyam Na Buhay, Boy Golden and Kaleidoscope World.
