Coming from Ang Mumunting Lihim in Cinemalaya 2012, dramatic actress Agot Isidro returns to independent filmmaking and this time under the new wave category of 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for the film Mga Anino ng Kahapon. Joining Agot in this 2013 MMFF New Wave entry are TJ Trinidad and Carlo Cruz. The film was written and directed by Alvin Yapan at the same time co-produced by Janssen, a division of Johnson & Johnson (Philippines), Inc.
Mga Anino ng Kahapon focuses on the character of Agot named Irene, a nurse who suffers schizophrenia and she fights for her sanity with the help of his family most especially his husband named Ed (Trinidad). It has been awhile since Agot did indie film which she finds challenging because of the story and the character she will be playing. During the interview, Agot confessed that she did see psychiatrist and she don’t see what’s wrong with it instead it is very helpful for everyone just like going to hospitals for physical exam.
Here’s the short interview of Agot during the special screening of Mga Anino ng Kahapon:
As for the actors, Agot, TJ and Carlo did a great job in portraying their roles. Agot a woman battling schizophrenia that shaken the relationship with his husband. TJ the husband of Agot in the story who will do everything in order to bring back the sanity of his wife but starting to became her nurse rather than her husband. And Carlo who saw the suffering of her sister-in-law together with the rest of their family.
Mga Anino ng Kahapon will be showing in selected cinemas nationwide from December 18 to 24 as part of the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival.
