Following the box office success of Rio in 2011, 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios bring back Blu and Jewel on the big screen for Rio 2. Still featuring the voices of Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway, the animated 3D film that follows the love story and later the family life of the Spix’s Macaws with their three kids (chicks) is directed by Carlos Saldanha. Rio 2 is set to fly on the big screen on April 9, 2014 and to be distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.
Now set at the city of Rio del Janeiro in Brazil, Blu and Jewel now works their way to the Amazon rainforest to raise their children in their natural habitat. The movie continues their adventure as they meet unusual allies and relatives in the wild and dodging dangers brought about by familiar and new set of villains including the old one.
Rio 2 still features the voices of will.i.am (Pedro), Jamie Foxx (Nico), George Lopez (Rafael), Tracy Morgan (Luiz), Jemaine Clement (Nigel), Leslie Mann (Linda), Rodrigo Santoro (Tulio), and Jake T. Austin (Fernando).
