Opening in all cinemas nationwide beginning October 30, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures brings back Chris Hemsworth on the big screen to reprise the role of the Thor, the Mighty Avenger for the film Thor: The Dark World. Joining Hemsworth in the superhero sci-fi film are Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin. The film was directed by Alan Taylor.
Thor: The Dark World opened another battle for Thor and his allies and this time with the returning ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith who wanted to bring back the abyss in the universe. Malekith was the enemy before that even Odin (Hopkins) and Asgard cannot withstand. It is now under the hands of Thor together with his allies and even needing the help of his brother and mortal enemy Loki (Hiddleston) in order to win this battle. At the same time the film fulfills the promise of Thor to reunite with Jane Foster (Portman), the mortal woman whom he fell in love with.

The film marks the third appearance of Hemsworth as Thor, the first was in 2011’s Thor which immediately followed by Marvel’s The Avengers in 2012. The film was based from the based from the Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thorwho first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery “ #83 in August, 1962.
