Aside from being an actress, KC Concepcion is one of the few celebrities that extended their celebrity influence for a good cause. KC is currently the National Ambassador Against Hunger of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and in her 5 years with the humanitarian organization she helped them in raising funds for the benefit of the communities in the conflict affected areas in Mindanao. In 2010 she launched the KC’s Closet which is an online buying site within eBay where she sells her pre-loved items from dress, bags, watches, shoes and other novelty items and all proceeds will go to WFP that focuses on supplementary school feeding program in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Education (DepEd) and local government units (LGUs).
Now, WFP partnered with Sandbox, a South East Asian game provider based in Thailand to extend the KC’s Closet experience to social gaming under the Stylista. It is a social game in Facebook where it encourages everyone one to bring out their fashionable side and create their account for free. They can style their avatars and their respective rooms the way they like it. Sandbox created the KC Stylista as a premium in the Stylista to feature online items that represent KC Concepcion’s Closet. Each items corresponds certain amount that can be paid by credit card or Paypal. Prices range from $0.50 up to $2.00 per items and proceeds will directly go to WFP.
According to KC, the game is very close to her heart because aside from her being a certified fashionista is that it helps the organization that is very close to her heart. The partnership started last February which according to Jonathan Lor, Sandbox Creative Manager, they are very proud of this CSR project which this is their first and the first in South East Asia.
