Officially showing in all cinemas nationwide under 20th Century Fox and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, The Wolverine marks Hugh Jackman’s sixth portrayal of the clawed-mutant on the big screen from the X-Men film series to the solo Wolverine films. Directed by James Mangold, The Wolverine stars Haruhiko Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ken Yamamura, Will Yun Lee and Svetlana Khodchenkova. The film is based from Wolverine series created by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller in the 1982.
We always see Logan and his X-Men alter ego Wolverine as a strong, immortal and mysterious character from all the movie series that were released by 20th Century Fox and even the animated version. But in The Wolverine we see him as person who has weakness and can actually feel pain which really set him aside from the clawed mutant that we used to know. The film let us see and understand the human side of Logan which in the film a broken person rather than a soldier who is always ready for war.
I like the way how the story and action were balanced in the film to let us understand more of the characters that became part of the life of Logan. We see the transition from the immortal and strong of Logan where he met the young Yashida to the weak and broken Logan who refuses to be called as soldier and hero by Yukio when the dying Yashida requested his presence. The set up was very grandeur from the actual set up to the fight scenes that are very artistic how Japanese did it.
The Wolverine is a breather for all the tough fight scenes that we saw in all Wolverine and X-Men movies it gives us a peek on a character that is also a human who has a human gift. Just a reminder after watching the film please do stay because within the credit there will be a sneak peek of the much awaited X-Men: Days of Future Past where Logan will be having a short conversation of Professor X and Magneto which will really give you excitement and anticipate more of the 2014 film.
