After the success of Four Sisters and A Wedding, Star Cinema on its 20th anniversary together with Skylight Films brings another film that is perfect to watch with your family, friends and special someone. The controversial film Tuhog has a mainstream and indie filmmaking approach that was directed by Cinemalaya award-winning director Veronica “Ronnie” Velasco and starring Enchong Dee, Jake Cuenca, Empress, Leo Martinez and Eugene Domingo. Tuhog premieres in all cinemas nationwide beginning July 17.
The film follows the stories of three main characters namely Fiesta (Eugene), Tonio (Leo) and Caloy (Enchong). Fiesta is a bus barker who puts on her “strong face” mask which behind that is carrying her senile father on her shoulder and other responsibilities and fears including the fear of love and rejection which will be tested by Nato (Jake) a newly hired bus driver who will be falling in love with her. Meanwhile, Tonio is old and retired family patriarch wanted to continue his role of being the provider to his family and invested on a bakery that his family disapproves because they doubt his capabilities. Lastly, there was Caloy who is studying in Manila and promises love to his girlfriend in Dumaguete named Angel (Empress) was forced to break it because of his friends pressuring him to have relationship with other girl until he was caught red handed.
