After his successful comeback to his mother station – ABS-CBN, the Universal “Sweet” John Lapus will be celebrating his 20 fruitful years in the entertainment industry with a comedy concert entitled Sweet in a Box. It will run at the Music Museum on June 15 and directed by Phillip Lazaro. Sweet in a Box follows the success of John Lapus’ concerts; Sweet 16 and Sweet @ 18.
The main concept of the comedy concert according to Lapus is having Sweet coming out from the box which includes more characters and impersonation that everyone will surely enjoy. Aside from that there will be “buwis buhay” performances that will showcase his talent into dancing that includes stunts that everyone should watch out in the end. He also highlighted that there will be scene where he will be impersonating Kris Aquino during her crying on the national TV at the same time her announcement of running to public office on 2016. “Sweet after twenty years is much bolder and spicier. Of course, I will be in my honest, direct to the point punch lines as I tackle life inside the box of showbiz”, John said. He ensures everyone that there will be more of Sweet on his 20 years in the entertainment industry that he will be showcasing in his show which will be new including Tweetums his latest character.
He also mentioned that he will be he wearing stunning creations of this industry’s fabulous and celebrated fashion designers namely JC Buendia, Pablo Cabahug, Jeffrey Rogador, Tatah Galias, Totoy Madriaga, Bea Albert and Bing Cristobal. He is very thankful to Star Magic who still believes in his talent including fellow Kamilya stars who will be joining his concert like Angeline Quinto, Enrique Gil and Xian Lim with the special participation of Jake Cuenca and Julia Clarete.
