After the smashing success of The Hunger Games in 2012 that stars the Academy and Golden Globe award winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, Lionsgate unveiled the first trailer of the second installment of The Hunger Games trilogy based from the Suzanne Collins’ novel last April 14 at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is directed by Francis Lawrence and set to be released in all theaters worldwide by November of this year.
For the readers of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire novel, they will have the idea that the first trailer that was released few days ago shows the tour of the two victors of the District 12 namely Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Hutcherson) after winning in the 74th Hunger Games. Instead of being victorious in the sense the tour of the star crossed lovers which they had played during the game reveals the real situation of other Districts like in their place under the control of President Snow (Donald Sutherland). The teaser also jumps on few scenes of the revolution part of the story and showing Gale Hawthorne (Hemsworth) being whipped by a peacemaker.

The trailer didn’t show any footage from the 75th Annual Hunger Games (Quarter Quell) that will be the highlight of the this installment along with the victors and careers from other Districts including Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin), Beetee (Jeffrey Wright), Wires (Amanda Plummer), Mags (Lynn Cohen), and Brutus (Bruno Gunn). The Hunger Games: Catching Fire also stars Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket and Lenny Kravitz as Cinna.
