From the TV series Kitchen Musical to Rama Hari of Ballet Philippines, the amazing chemistry and tandem of Karylle and Christian Bautista will be once again to be seen in the Resorts World Manila’s presentation of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. The well-loved fairy tale that became part of everybody’s childhood will be staged at the Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT) on September. Karylle will be playing the role of Cinderella and Christian will be playing the role of Prince Charming.
Karylle aside from being an actress on TV and Film and also a talented host and singer has proven her worth in theater where she was cast in Trumpet’s A Little Mermaid as Princess Sapphire, Atlantis Production’s Seussical as the Cat in the Hat, and Stages’ West Side Story as Maria where she was awarded as Aliw Awards Best Actress nomination back in 2008. Meanwhile, Christian Bautista aside from his successful musical influence that reaches other Southeast Asian Countries like Indonesia he gained both gold and platinum in most of his albums.
Aside from singing Christian played various roles on TV and film including Kampanerang Kuba, Princess and I and Mano Po 5: Gua Ai Di. He also appears in theater shows including West Side Story, Joseph the Dreamer and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Joining the cast of Cinderella is Menchu-Lauchengco Yulo who will be playing the role of the fairy god mother and it will be directed by the veteran stage actor and director Michael Williams.
