In line with the opening of Iron Man 3 in all theaters nationwide that is available in IMAX 3D, Digital 3D and regular format, the Marvel film that was distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures posted an earning of Php 62.6-M on its opening day making it the biggest first-day gross ever in Philippine history, foreign or local film. The said announcement was done by the Managing Director of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Philippines Victor R. Cabrera which he describes it flying to the box office chart as it soars past the stratosphere to break the country’s all-industry, all-time Opening Day records. Cabrera mentioned that it is a boost in the industry.
With the Php 62.6-M first day earning, Iron Man 3 went ahead in the ranking over the Php 58-million earning of Spider-Man 3 in 2007 and Marvel’s The Avengers that gained Php56-M. Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. never fails to portray his Tony Stark character and his super hero alter ego. He still embodies the brash-but-brilliant character despite of her sudden fall in the story.
The Iron Man film franchise that stars Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow that was based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968.
It is currently showing in all cinemas nationwide presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures and DMG Entertainment. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
