After the record-breaking success of Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011 and Marvel’s The Avenger in 2012, Marvel Studios officially announced the start of the production of the Captain America: The Winter Soldier film that stars Chris Evans. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the superhero film is set to be released on April 2014 and Evans will be reprising his role Steve Rogers a World War II veteran who was enhanced to the peak of human physicality by an experimental serum where he became Captain America.
Evans will be joined by Scarlett Johansson who will be playing the role of Natasha Romanoff of popularly known as the Black Widow, a highly trained spy working for S.H.I.E.L.D. Still in the state of struggling to adapt in the modern world, Captain America will be working with S.H.I.E.L.D fighting the powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C. Included in the film are characters; Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Brock Rumlow (Frank Grillo), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Arnim Zola (Toby Jones), Agent 13 (Emily VanCamp) and Agent Jasper Sitwell (Maximiliano Hernández), and Georges Batroc (Georges St-Pierre).
Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be following the release of two Marvel movies this 2013; Iron Man on May 3 (April 24 in the Philippines) and Thor: The Dark World on November 8.
