After the smashing success of Cats and Phantom of the Opera, Lunchbox Theatrical Productions and Concertus Manila together with Pieter Toerien, Hazel Feldman, Karl Sydow, David Atkins Enterprises and Joye Entertainment, and Hi-Definition Radio Inc. will be bringing the classical Dirty Dancing in Manila at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Main Theater starting July 4. With only 22 performances, it will surely a worth watching with your friends and family to enjoy the wonderful story of friendship and love as shown by breathtaking moves and great music on stage.
The Dirty Dancing was based from the 1987 movie with the same titled that featured Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey, Jerry Orbach, and Cynthia Rhodes. The stage adaptation will feature soundtracks of the film including Do You Love Me?, Hungry Eyes and the Academy Award Winning (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life a cast of 35 who sing a score of 55 songs played by a live orchestra; 73 scene changes, which are lit by 200 moving lights. Byrony Whitfield will be playing the role of Baby that will have more than 21 costume changes through out the musical. The musical also includes Mila de Biaggi as Penny and Gareth Bailey as Johnny.
