During the Grand Press Conference of the romantic comedy film It Takes A Man and A Woman last March 17 in ABS-CBN that marks the third installment of the Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz love team as Laida and Miggy, both artists emotionally explained the journey that they underwent 4 years after their last film with Star Cinema and Viva Films. Coming from a back to back romantic comedy film A Very Special Love in 2008 and You Changed My Life in 2009, they’re playing the role Laida and Miggy to a more light and romantic approach and now with It Takes A Man and A Woman it is more serious and mature.
It Takes A Man and A Woman director Cathy Garcia-Molina explained that the 4-year interval with their first two movies really helped John Lloyd and Sarah with the changes that happened to the characters on this sequel. With their personal journey as an artist and as a person it really helps them to be more mature and cope with the changes that their respective roles undergo. Direk Cathy explained that despite of the long gap, the magic of the John Lloyd and Sarah tandem is still there and now grew bigger and stronger.
Sarah Geronimo confirms that there’s a big change in the character of Laida which in the film she is now stronger, braver and fiercer and similar with the mature image that she is showing now as a person and an actress. Opposite from her other press conference, Sarah answers all the questions with deeper explanation and no holds bar which according to her co-actor John Lloyd she is a very transparent person and candid where she say what’s in her mind. Meanwhile, John Lloyd mentioned that Sarah will always be a very special person and their tandem is beyond chemistry but more in to magic that made their projects successful and well-loved by their supporters.
The two actors became emotional during the press conference on the topic on how they see themselves in the characters that they are playing. Sarah mentioned that just like Laida she encountered so many challenges in life that molded her as a mature person and an actress. Meanwhile, John Lloyd affirms what Sarah mentioned that Miggy will always be the person who wanted to prove himself to his family. He also mentioned that he might be on early retirement in the future because he wanted to focus with his future family which as of now he cannot confirm yet when will it be.
In the lighter note, Isabelle Daza who is in her first time to venture on a film project with Star Cinema confirms that she is a huge fan of the Laida and Miggy love team during her high school years. And Direk Cathy mentioned that there will be familiar scenes from the first two films that moviegoers will be seeing in It Takes A Man and A Woman which according to her the past will always be part of everybody’s journey and making everyone remember how fun and exciting their story was which in the third installment will be different because they parted ways.
The big question in the film It Takes A Man and A Woman is what happen between Laida and Miggy that led to their break up and also will there still be a happy ending between the two of them? It Takes A Man and A Woman will be showing in all cinemas nationwide beginning March 30 under Star Cinema and Viva Films.
