Academy award winning actor Anthony Hopkins returns to the big screen to portray the life of Alfred Hitchcock, a highly acclaimed director and producer behind the great movies like Psycho, Vertigo, North By Northwest and The Bird to a name a few. Directed by Sacha Gervasi, the biographical drama film Hitchcock will be exclusively shown in all Ayala Cinemas in Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3, TriNoma, Alabang Town Center, Market! Market!, Ayala Center Cebu, Marquee Mall, Abreeza in Davao, Harbor Point in Subic and Centrio in Cagayan de Oro starting February 4.
The film was based from the non-fiction novel entitled Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho by Stephen Rebello that follows the struggles of Alfred in creating the movie Psycho and his relationship with his wife Alma (Helen Mirren). Aside from that Hitchcock will show how he works with his actors in Psycho including Janet Leigh (Scarlett Johansson), Vera Miles (Jessica Biel) and Anthony Perkins (James D’Arcy) and the success of Psycho.
Hitchcock offers a combination of drama and comedy to its viewers which give balance to the life of the famous director. It gives the chance to everyone to know Alma, Alfred’s wife on her contribution to the success of his husband in terms of his creation and personal life. It is a film more of talkies rather than giving a chuck to the creation of Psycho, still it delivers a wonderful satire in the life of Alfred and the people in the film industry and manages to include a touch of love story even it is a little awkward in the age of the characters.
Over-all Hitchcock is a good movie to watch for those who wanted to peek on the life of the famous filmmaker in not that serious way and enjoy every scene.
