In line with the opening of the new chapter of Ina Kapatid Anak last January 14, the top-rating teleserye of ABS-CBN that stars Kim Chiu, Maja Salvador, Xian Lim, Enchong Dee, Janice de Belen, Ariel Rivera and Cherrie Pie Picache ranked number 1 in the top-rating teleserye according to Kantar Media National TV Ratings with 36.3%. Ina Kapatid Anak Book 2 gained 14 points lead versus GMA 7’s Indio that premiered on the same day with just 22.7%.
Aside from that Ina Kapatid Anak was almost double of another GMA primetime teleserye Temptation of Wife that only obtained 19% national TV ratings.With this statistics it proves that the turning point in the life of Celyn (Chiu) as a Marasigan was followed by most of the TV viewers in the country.
Also Ina Kapatid Anak dominated the popular microblogging site Twitter with the episode’s non-stop revelations and confrontations, especially among the characters of its lead stars Kim, Maja Salvador, Janice de Belen, Ariel Rivera and Cherry Pie Picache. With the netizens’ overflowing emotions, the title of the teleserye became a national trending topic, while ‘Cherry Pie’ made it on the top trending topics worldwide, with the seasoned actress’ outstanding dramatic performance as Teresa, the mother of Celyn.
