Star Cinema is now celebrating back to back success after getting the top spots in the highest grossing films of the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) that includes Sisterakas and One More Try. According to data from the film fest organizer Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), after two days in theaters, Sisterakas continues to rule the list of the highest-earning MMFF entries with a nationwide two-day gross of P71.2 million; while One More Try is still strong at no.3 with P24.3 million. And it will increase as days pass by.
Aside from the big earnings that One More Try and Sisterakas are getting, both movies made it great the the 38th MMFF Awards Night at the Meralco Theater, Ortigas last December 27. Sisterakas brought home the Best Supporting Actress trophy for Wilma Doesnt and the third place at the Best Picture category. Meanwhile, One More Try received Best Actor award for Dingdong Dantes, Best Child Star for Miguel Vergara, who played as the dying son of Angel and Dingdong, Best Editing for Vito Kahili, Best Screenplay for Anna Ramos, and the first-ever FPJ Memorial Award.
