After three days of running in all cinemas nationwide the eight (8) official entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2012 including Sisterakas, One More Try, The Strangers, El Presidente, Shake Rattle and Roll 14, Si Enteng Si Agimat at Si Ako, Thy Womb, and Sosy Problems the MMFF committee headed by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino awarded the winners in all categories. The 2012 MMFF happened at the Meralco Theater in Ortigas, Pasig City and hosted by Kris Aquino and KC Concepcion.
Going home victorious are Nora Aunor of Thy Womb who won Best Actress, Dingdong Dantes of One More Try for Best Actor, Brillante Mendoza of Thy Womb for Best Director and One More Try for Best Picture followed by El Presidente and Sisterakas as 2nd and 3rd place. Meanwhile, El Presidente and Thy Womb shares on the technical awards of this year’s MMFF.

Best Visual Effects – Imaginary and Black Burst – Shake Rattle & Role 14

Best Musical Score (Themesong) – Apl de Ap and Jamir Garcia – El Presidente
Best Score – Jessie Lassaten – El Presidente
Best Sound – Albert Michael Idioma – El Presidente
Best Child Performer – Miguel Vergara – One More Try
Youth Choice – El Presidente
Best Float – El Presidente
Aside from the 8 official entries, the Metro Manila Film Festival 2012 committee also recognizes the talent of filmmakers in the field of digital filmmaking and falls in the New Wave Category. New Wave entries include Ad Ignorantiam ( Armando Y. Lao), Gayak (Ronaldo Bertubin), In Nomine Matris (Mr. Will Fredo), Paglaya sa Tanikala (Michael Angelo Dagnñalan) and The Grave Bandits (Tyrone Acierto).
