After the production of Pain and Gain project of the director Michael Bay that stars Mark Wahlberg and will be showing in cinemas by April 26th 2013 under Paramount Pictures, Bay announces the start of the production of Transformers 4. The sci-fi film will start its production on the next spring and also under Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom, Inc., in association with Hasbro, the film will be produced by Don Murphy & Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Ian Bryce, and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian.
Transformers 4 will now include Mark Wahlberg as member of the cast which Bay collaborated with during the Pain and Gain. It will be the fourth Transformer movie franchise that Bay will be directing where the first three were blockbuster.
The first Transformer movie in 2007 earns $700 million worldwide, while “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” in 2009 grossed more than $830 million worldwide and “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” was an even bigger hit worldwide, grossing more than a billion dollars to become the 5th highest grossing film of all time. To date, the franchise has earned more than $2.6 billion worldwide.
Transformers 4 will be released on June 27, 2014.
