After the successful 75th season of Repertory Philippines where they presented a wide range of plays for 2012 including Next Fall, Jekyll & Hyde, The Wizard of Oz and Leading Ladies, they will be closing the year with wild, loud and fun presentation entitled Disney’s Camp Rock: The Musical. It is based from Disney Channel Original Movies Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam starring the Jonas Brothers (Nick, Joe, and Kevin) and Demi Lovato. Directed by Audie Gemora, Rep Phils’ Disney’s Camp Rock: The Musical features new bread of stage actors including ABS-CBN’s Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1 Grand Finalist and now actor Markki Stroem and TV 5’s Star Factor Grand Finalist and also an actress Morissette Amon.
Disney’s Camp Rock: The Musical follows the classic story between teen rivalry and power where Mitchie (Amon) with her friends including Gray brothers where her boyfriend Shane (Stroem) is part of the teenagers who joined the camp rock. It is a summer workshop that will develop their talents in singing, dancing and even character. But like other gathering there will always be a struggle for power where Camp Star is dominating the scene but the rest of the Camp Rockers headed by Mitchie and Shane wanted to have a good fight and show their talent.
For Amon and Stroem, their roles are very close to their hearts especially that they came from reality-talent search that is similar to the story. Amon came from the 2010 Star Factor competition of TV 5, while Stroem also a product of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1 of ABS-CBN. For Stroem he already had the chance to do theater with Atlantis Production’s Next to Normal, he also appears in ABS-CBN’s ASAP 2012 and ever released his debut album. Aside from that he will be appearing in the indie film entitled Slumber Party, a Cinema One Originals entry. Meanwhile, Amon who is now doing acting roles and TV appearances in the Kapatid Network tries her luck in theater and luckily landed on a lead role.
