The phantom fever lives on as The Phantom of the Opera in Manila will be extended for the second time and it will be until October 14, 2012. So for those who haven’t seen thing longest running musical as declared by the Guinness Book of World Records, you can still catch it at the CCP Main Theater, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City. Watch the breathtaking tragic story that involves Christine Daaé (Claire Lyon), Raoul (Anthony Downing) and the Phantom (Jonathan Roxmouth) along with the great production design and vocals of the cast.
Up to date, The Phantom of the Opera had reach more than 10, 000 performance since it was staged in 1986. Andrew Lloyd Webber created the musical and it was based from the French novel of Gaston Leroux entitled Le Fantôme de l’Opéra that was published in 1910. It includes 130 cast, crew and orchestra members, jaw-dropping scenery, breathtaking special effects and more than 230 costumes by international designer, the late Maria Björnson making it a world class production. The Phantom of the Opera in Manila was brought by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, David Atkins Enterprises, Hi-Definition Radio Inc. and Concertus. It was also presented by Smart Infinity and Citibank.
