After the successful release of his Forevermore album early this year that covers Filipino songs and exclusively distributed in the Philippines, David Archuleta releases his fifth studio album entitled “BEGIN” and it is distributed globally. BEGIN will be distributed by Ivory Music & Video locally and songs can be downloaded via DeseretBook.com, Amazon, iTunes, and MyMusicStore.com.ph.
The “BEGIN” Album of David Archuleta contains nine cover songs including Beautiful (Christina Aguilera), Somewhere Only We Know (Keane), Everybody Hurts (R.E.M.), Don’t Give Up (feat. Libbie Linton) (Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush), Angel (Sarah McLachlan), Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon & Garfunkel), True Colors (Cyndi Lauper), Pride (In The Name Of Love) (U2) and Be Still My Soul (Jean Sibelius). While a track originally written by Archuleta entitled Broken.
All the cover songs included in the BEGIN album were hand-picked by David which each song holds a special meaning to his life. Aside from the album, Archuleta is preparing for his two-year mission in South America under The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or popularly known to others as the Mormon Church.
According to David, the album will tell why he come up with some of the decisions that some of his fans and friends are having the hard time to understand. He said that through the “BEGIN” album it will explain to them why he decided to do things including his two-year hiatus in the industry in order to fulfill his missionary task to his church. “It really comes from my heart. While I can’t always explain what I want to say using words, I hope that these songs will help people know where I am coming from on my mission decision.” He ended.
