On March 2013, Walt Disney Pictures brings “Oz the Great and Powerful” that stars James Franco, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis. This fantasy film is directed by Sam Raimi and the movie adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel entitled The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This was supposed to be as the prequel of the film The Wizard of Oz 1939.
The film Oz the Great and Powerful follows the arrival of Oscar Diggs (Franco) a small-time circus magician of Kansas to the wonderful Land of Oz. He met the three witches in land named Theodora (Kunis), Evanora (Weisz) and Glinda (Williams) who were not convinced with his skills and thinking we was not the great wizard whom they are expecting to be. Aside from the doubt and disapproval thrown at him, Oscar faces epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants. Trying to get their support and approval he uses illusion, ingenuity, and even a bit of wizardry that made him popular and the powerful Wizard of Oz as it turns him to become a better person.
Oz the Great and Powerful was produced by Joe Roth and written by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire. Grant Curtis, Philip Steuer and Palak Patel are serving as executive producers. It will be available in 3D and regular format and will be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.
