As Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler leave the American Idol after being a judge for the seasons and no confirmations yet if Randy Jackson will remain as a judge or moving to mentor role for the next season of Idol, Kevin Reilly, the President of the Fox’s Entertainment announced that Mariah Carey will be joining the judge panel of the reality singing show. The announcement was done during the Fox’s Executive Session Panel at the Television Critic’s Association Summer Press Tour last July 23.
Mariah Carey will be joining the American Idol Season 12 that will kick off on January 2013. At the age of 42, Carey continuously is making her name in the international music industry being a singer, songwriter, and record producer. She releases numerous top selling albums including Emotions, Daydreamer, Butterfly, Rainbow, Glitter, Charmbracelet and Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. She already won five Grammy Awards. Aside from singing she is also an actress that appears in The Bachelor, Glitter, WiseGirls, Tennessee, and Precious. She was awarded the “Breakthrough Performance Award” at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and a NAACP Image Award nomination.
There’s no confirmation yet who will be the third judge but there are rumors that the American Idol Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert might joining the panel. Still hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
