After the success of Marvel’s The Avengers, Marvel Studios announced that they are now on the production of the return of Iron Man on the big screen by 2013 in his third movie installment. Iron Man 3 is directed by Shane Black and most of the production was done in Wilmington, North Carolina. Other locations for the sci-fi film include Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina, Miami, Florida and China. Robert Downey Jr. will be reprising his character Tony Stark/Iron Man along with Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes and Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan.
Iron Man 3 continues the epic adventure of the world’s favorite billionaire inventor and Super Hero, Tony Stark aka “Iron Man.” Along with his adventure, Iron Man will be facing two arch nemeses in this film namely Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce), who is the creator of The Extremis Virus and the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley).
The creative production team on the film includes two-time Oscar-winning director of photography John Toll, ASC, production designer Bill Brzeski, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Peter S. Elliot, and costume designer Louise Frogley. Iron Man 3 is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963 and it will be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.
