On July 7 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, Athletes in Action, Fila and Huper International will be having a “Schools Run for School Rooms” for the benefit of the schools in Iligan City that was destroyed by Typhoon Sendong in 2011. The running event will help raised funds for the rehabilitation of classrooms in Iligan City that was destroyed by floods because of Sendong with the help of Department of Education, GMA Kapuso Foundation and iCare Foundation who will be facilitating the said project.
The Schools Run for School Rooms will kicks off at 4AM, there will be three (3) categories including 3 K (registration fee: Php 350), 5K (registration fee: Php 450), and 10K (registration fee: Php 550). The registration fee includes running kit. Participants can register at SM Tickets Booth in SM Malls and online via www.SMTickets.com.
With this project, Schools Run for School Rooms will be helping to rehabilitate classrooms that were destroyed during Typhoon Sendong at the same time to improve facilities that will benefit hundreds of students inIliganCity. This are the students who do long walks from their homes going to their school, sometimes barefooted and not thinking how the road can be rough for them just to attend to school. With the support of every runners and advocates who believe on the importance of education and this cause, for every step that each participant made from the start to the finish line we are taking that big step in helping them reach their dreams and have a proper education by means of better classrooms and facilities in their school.
