The cheque that has the amount of Php 400, 000 that was raised by Unilever Food Solutions for the Sandwich Heroes campaign was officially turnover to WFP at the Cilantro Room at the Unilever Office in UN Avenue, Paco, Manila.
Here’s the message of Mr. Anderson during the turnover of funds raised by Unilever Food Solutions for the Sandwich Heroes Campaign:
The funds raised by UFS will help WFP Philippines and its government counterpart, Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Education in providing hot nutritious meals for children in remote, conflict-affected areas of Central Mindanao. And with the amount they will surely feed 40, 000 kids that will start in the coming school year.
This was the first venture of the UFS as Unilever subsidiary and first with the company to partner with WFP. Globally Unilever partners with WFP since 2006, and its office in the Philippines started in 2008 as WFP corporate partner.
