From Kingdom of Heaven and Casino Royale, French actress and model Eva Green now stars in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows as the revengeful witch named Angelique Bouchard. Green will be joining Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter in this dark comedy that will be showing in all cinemas beginning May 10. Dark Shadows was based on the 1966-1971 gothic soap opera of the same name and directed by Tim Burton.
Angelique Bouchard (Green) is a witch in the 18th century that fell in love with the rich playboy guy in Collinsport, Maine named Barnabas Collins (Depp). Unfortunately, Collins broke her heart that’s why she cursed him to become a vampire and to imprison in his coffins for over two centuries. But Bouchard’s anger never ends there. After discovering that the guy who broke her heart finally escapes, she returned in order to continue her revenge and included the descendants of Barnabas in her plan.
According to Seth Grahame-Smith, the screenwriter of the film, that the movie goers should expect different kind of tensions that brews in the entire movie—sexual tension, financial tension, physical pure hatred of each other. ”I mean, after all she did lock Barnabas in a box for two centuries!” Grahame-Smith ended.
Watch the transformation of Eva Green’s character from Angelique who was a dark-haired servant girl in the 18th century to Angie, the CEO of Angel Bay, she’s a successful blonde businesswoman in the 20th century but still has the hate against Barnabas.
Dark Shadows will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
