Opening on May 9, 2012 in all theaters nationwide, Regal Films brings Pokwang, Ruffa Gutierrez and Gabby Concepcion together in family horror-comedy film entitled The Mommy Returns. This Mother’s Day offering of Regal Films was directed by Joel Lamangan from a screenplay by Senedy H. Que.
The Mommy Returns follows the journey of Ruby (Pokwang) who died right on time with her 25th wedding anniversary with his husband William (Concepcion). Now as a ghost who escaped from the purgatory guarded by Dyoga (John Lapus) she wanted to return to her family and continue her task as a wife to William and as a mother to her three beloved children played by Kiray, Gerald Pesigan and Jillian Ward. With her physical absence in the family William met Catherine (Gutierrez), who is a possible mother to his children and also a wife. Wanting to secure her family from anyone who wanted to take her role, Ruby tries to drive Catherine out of their house and reclaim her position in their family.
This is a kind of film that will offer a good laugh to all movie goers who will be watching it beginning May 9 in all theaters nationwide. It is a horror-comedy that has a wonderful theme of a mother’s love to her family especially her children whom she doesn’t want to leave behind.
