As Columbia Pictures brings back the Men in Black Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) for its third installment on May 25, Armando C. Perez aka Pitbull will be singing the official soundtrack of the comedy action film and it will be released to radio beginning March 26. The song entitled “Back in Time” was written by Pitbull, Marc Kinchen, Adrian Trejo and Urales Vargas and features a sample of the 1950s hit “Love is Strange,” written by Sylvia Robinson, Ellas McDaniel and Mickey Baker, which went to #1 for the R&B duo Mickey & Sylvia. The news about it was announced by Lia Vollack, President of Worldwide Music for Sony Pictures.
According to Pitbull, it is an honor for him to be part of the amazing franchise as Men in Black, where has respect for Will Smith, especially with their similar musical backgrounds. While the director of the film (Men in Black 3) says that Pitbull was recommended by her 19-year old daughter and with that he was trilled to see that the singer writes such a great song for their movie that totally gets the theme which is to keep the music fun yet modern.
The action comedy film Men in Black 3 follows Agent J’s return back in time in order to save the planet and the life of his partner Agent K. With his travel back in time he discovers some secrets and other details about the universe that his K never told him. He now partners with young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.
Men in Black 3 was directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and written by Etan Cohen, based on the Malibu Comic by Lowell Cunningham. The film will be available on 3D and regular format and will be distributed here in thePhilippinesby Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
