Officially released in all music stores nationwide as of August 2011, Erik Santos’ latest album entitled Awit Para Sa’yo contains 14 songs of all-OPM love songs that will truly caters to all Filipino music lovers. The album is under Star Records and Erik is one of producer of his album.
The 14 songs in his album contains 9 original songs including “Kulang Ako Kung Wala Ka” (Soc Villanueva), “Kailan Ka Magiging Akin” (Ogie Alcasid), “Hindi Na Magbabago” (Christian Martinez), “Bakit Mahal Pa Rin Kita” (Jonathan Manalo), “Langit” (Jonathan Manalo), “Mula Sa Araw Na Ito” (Ryan Cayabyab), “Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin” (Gary Valenciano, Erik Santos), “If You Have To” (ude Gitamondoc), and “Sa Iyong Paglisan” (Arnold Reyes). And also 5 remakes including “Sana Ikaw” (originally by Piolo Pascual), “Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka” (originally by Regine Velasquez), “Di Lang Ikaw” (originally by Juris) “Paminsan-minsan” (originally by Richard Reynoso) and “Muling Buksan Ang Puso” (originally by Basil Valdez).
It will be a great challenge for Erik to release an all-OPM music compilation like the Awit Para Sa’yo but according to him that he accepts this challenge and believes that it will push through because of the theme which is love that is very close to the hearts of every Filipinos that is his target market. Awit Para Sa’yo is Erik’ 8th album and all reaches platinum and receives awards from Star Awards from Music, MYX Music Awards, and Aliw Awards.
From Star in a Million, Erik Santos maintains his reputation as one of the best OPM balladeers of his generation where he gains the title of the Ultimate Serenader of the Philippine Music. Aside from singing, Erik also ventures to hosting in shows line ASAP and the defunct Star Power. He also did acting roles where he appears in his first Maalaala Mo Kaya episode in 2010 and in Atlantis Production of The Little Mermaid the Musical in 2011 as Price Eric.
